In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern there is a high demand for qualified professionals, which remains unfulfilled despite a diverse range of companies. It is particularly difficult to retain university graduates in the region and integrate them into the local labour market. The emigration of skilled workers to other federal states threatens economic growth and innovation. Although companies have a strong interest in recruiting , engaging and attracting talent is challenging.
The project "Connect MV" aims to establish a sustainable connection between the academic sector and the local economy in the Hanseatic City of Rostock and its surroundings. It promotes direct exchange and cooperation between students and businesses to strengthen the regional economic power and retain qualified professionals locally.
1. Objective
A central goal is to highlight the career opportunities in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and to provide students with concrete career paths. Thesis work and research projects with companies, as well as internships and student work placements, promote practical relevance and help to identify talents early.
2. Implementation
As part of the "Connect MV" project, events are regularly organized to connect students and companies. Each event is specifically tailored to the respective degree programmes and subject areas to present participants with relevant career opportunities.
3. This is important to us
The environmentally friendly planning of events follows ecological principles and promotes sustainable solutions. The project strengthens the regional labor market and contributes to social justice and ecological sustainability by leveraging the potentials of the region.

On 2 July 2025, we were represented with our own CONNECT:MV Area at the MVpreneur Day!
Here, companies from across Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania had the opportunity to make themselves visible, meet young talents, and speak directly with students.
